Access Control Cube Access Control

The integration of Access Control systems into Immix provides the ability to match events from individual door points with specific alarm conditions to create a highly customisable and powerful CCTV security system.

Alarms received from each door point are assigned a pre-set priority level according to the type of alarm and the location of the door. These alarms can then be linked with any nearby CCTV cameras and immediately raised to an operator for handling. With over 2000 potential priority levels this provides a very high degree of granularity and enables events from multiple sites to be handled very efficiently and effectively.

Using Immix, the operator has complete control of the site, can review the cause of the event, watch the pre-recorded CCTV alarm loop, use the interactive maps, issue audio and view any live cameras associated with the site. All actions taken by the operator are stored in the secure audit trail.

Many Access Control systems provide seamless two-way operation of the door access points through Immix and therefore offer the operator the ability to open and lock door specific points from within the Immix front end.

Immix integrates and receives alarms and events with Access Control systems in one of two ways, depending on the manufacturer and architecture of the Access Control system. Either the Access Control system is set to stream all events to Immix continually and let Immix perform the filtering – looking for alarm event conditions, or the Access Control system is configured on site to only send an event when an exception has been caused that is likely to end in an alarm condition requiring monitoring station operator action.

As this alarm and event data is received by Immix any pre-configured alarm conditions are matched automatically. The alarm is then automatically given a priority level, linked to a camera and, if necessary, placed on the Immix alarm queue for operator action. Actions can include a match on a specific door point (i.e. alert on all entry to a secure data centre), or an event condition (i.e. alert on door forced events from any door), or a combination of the two (i.e. alert if the rear fire door is held open too long). Each alarm can be set to record any relevant cameras near to the door access point that caused the event. Any camera or DVR supported by Immix can be linked to the Access Control event, which allows for a very flexible site setup and ensures that existing investment is fully utilised. Any condition that does not match as an active alarm event is logged by Immix but not passed to the operator - thus normal access control running does not burden any monitoring station operators.

Immix can also be set to automatically record a specific camera on a specified door and alarm condition without requiring any operator action. These camera images and the event that caused them are stored in the audit trail for later review. This is useful when a customer would like to record images of all out-of-hours door activation without impeding access, or would like to record images of everyone entering a secure area within the site. Additional functions include the ability to incorporate monitoring times into the system and temporarily disable faulty door alarm points to prevent unwanted “noise” alarms.
