Alarm Management Cube Alarm Management

Immix provides UL certified support for the most popular alarm automation receivers and digital alarm panels. This powerful feature provides traditional alarm companies a complete solution for all types of alarm management, incorporates CCTV support and radically changes the way that alarms from digital panels can be handled and processed.

Alarms from traditional burglar and fire panels are sent directly from the panel to a central alarm receiver unit (such as the Bosch/Radionics D6600, Surguard, etc.) which is usually located at the central monitoring station. Alarms of this type are traditionally sent over analogue dial up connection, but can now equally be sent through a broadband connection via UL certified secure protocols. Regardless of the transmission method, once the alarm has been received by the alarm receiver, it is forwarded directly to the Immix server for decoding and processing. Immix automatically checks each alarm for any associations with cameras on the site and if necessary will automatically connect to the relevant CCTV system and start recording the images for the operator to review when the alarm is handled.  The alarm is also simultaneously collated with any other outstanding alarms from the same site, associated with a pre-assigned priority level and placed on the queue for the next available operator to handle.

Alarms sent via a broadband connection can trigger the recoding of the cameras on site within about a second of the alarm activation taking place. This is generally fast enough for Immix to have automatically captured the cause of the event. Alarms over an analogue line will involve a delay while the modem connection to the receiver is established and the message transmitted. This delay may mean any images captured could be less relevant and this should be considered during installation and design of the site and camera locations.

Pure text based alarms from a digital alarm panels are handled and processed in the same efficient manner as through a traditional automation system, with all the features usually associated with text based systems fully supported through the Immix platform - with the key advantage of a user friendly and familiar native Windows environment.

Prescribed actions for the operator to undertake on alarm is supported through a powerful and easy to use scripting feature which includes dynamic dispatch based on time of day and seamless integration with the live cameras on site. Other traditional features such as dispatching, alarm hold, alarm restore and site maps have likewise been extended and brought up to date in line with the needs of a modern alarm receiving station.

Complete integrated CCTV support is provided for sites that contain cameras through the same familiar interface as pure text alarms.  This offers an ideal transition environment as both CCTV and non CCTV enabled sites are handled through the same system, with a consistent and comprehensive audit trail of all operator actions and event outcomes stored in the secure Immix database. A full set of UL certified reports are provided and a API is available for those who wish to develop their own custom reports or link the Immix database with a third party accounting or billing system.

Immix supports multiple simultaneous connections to various alarm receivers over both serial and Ethernet connections. In line with UL requirements, trouble signals and restore alarms from sites are fully supported and the health of each connection to the alarm receiver devices is automatically maintained and monitored by use of a regular heart beat between the Immix server and the receivers. If any connected receiver fails, all operator agents are immediately notified and corrective action can take place while the incoming alarms are safely being buffered in the main receiver or sent through a backup system. This way, no alarms are missed when operating through the Immix platform.
