Interactive Video Monitoring Cube How Immix Works With Video Alarm Monitoring

Sureview Immix provides an easy to use and consistent user interface for the handling of alarm event notifications and the associated CCTV from the leading providers of IP based security equipment.

Immix can receive alarms from many different sources and associate these alarms with camera systems on site. Often when dealing with pure video alarm monitoring, the source of the alarm is the DVR or IP camera itself. Alarms of this type may be generated by simple motion detection, video analysis if supported, or more often through a hard wired contact into an alarm input on the device connected to a proximity detector such as a PIR or beam break.

A key advantage of obtaining the alarm directly from the DVR or IP camera is that the device itself can send pre-alarm images along with the alarm notification. These images are received by Immix and will form part of the alarm loop generated for when the operator handles the event. This will often provide a better view of the cause of the incident.

As there is no cost associated with sending an alarm event through a broadband connection, the DVR may be set to be armed on site permanently. Immix will automatically arm or disarm the site in software based on a schedule, but with the option for a supervisor override. This has the advantage that the monitoring station can be certain that the site is always armed when it is supposed to be and high priority alarms such as panic buttons can generate an alert even if the rest of the site is disarmed. Another useful benefit is that Immix can report on detectors that have not generated an alarm for an unusual period of time. This will often highlight faulty or broken detectors on sites that would otherwise have gone unnoticed.

As each alarm is received into Immix it is immediately decoded and pre-handled. This involves automatically checking to see if the site is presently armed and if it is to be acted upon at this time of day and if so assigning it a priority level. Where appropriate, Immix will instantly connect back to a camera in the vicinity of the alarm and record images of the event taking place. The system will automatically move fully functional cameras to preset positions if necessary in order to ensure the best images are created.

All available operators are notified of the alarm with an audio alert and details about the alarm and the site are placed in a prioritized alarm queue. Subsequent alarms from the same site are automatically collated together into the same event with the overall priority level increasing as necessary.

When an operator selects to handle the alarm, the operator is immediately presented with both the live camera showing the location of the latest alarm and a loop of the images automatically recorded the moment the alarm was received.

While an operator is dealing with an incident on a site, subsequent alarms from the same site are routed directly to the operator dealing with the site. This ensures that the cause of each new alarm is quickly ascertained and can help locate and identify an intruder.

Interactive clickable location maps, comprehensive telemetry control, two-way audio and the ability to operate relays at the site to open and close doors or turn on/off lights all ensure that the operator is given every possible tool needed to deal with each security event smoothly and efficiently. Multiple cameras from a site can be viewed and manipulated from within the same screen.

The consistent and intuitive user interface is maintained regardless of the technology actually deployed on site. By removing the need for the operators to be aware of the different types of hardware on the site and allowing them instead to concentrate on managing the events, Immix ensures a dependable and standardized approach to site security and considerably reduces staff training.

Immix supports operator scripting where specific actions can be prescribed for the operator to undertake depending on the type of alarm for each site.  This is useful for ensuring consistency of operator response and performance. Where an incident needs to be escalated, full details about the specific escalation procedures, the site address, emergency service and other relevant information are all available either as part of the script or at the click of a button. This continues the theme of efficient alarm management and means the operator can completely manage every event without ever needing to 'leave the screen'. Upon completion, each event must be given an outcome selected from a customizable drop down list.

Every agent identifies themselves to Sureview Immix through an individual login.  A comprehensive audit trail is kept of every action taken by the operators, every alarm received and all video and audio transmitted from the site. Relevant aspects of the audit trail are automatically made available to the agent when dealing with an incident to ensure that they are made aware of, and are able to review, previous events and incidents from the same site.

Immix provides support for virtual guard tours where an agent will be required to connect to a site at a specific time to look around the cameras or undertake a specific action on the site. The guard tour schedules can be pre set into Immix and different schedules made for the different days of the week and for holidays. A list of pending guard tours is always maintained on the Immix front screen along with an audio alert to prompt any available agents to undertake the tour as when it falls due. A message informing the agent to check on an aspect of the site or undertake a function can also be attached to each guard tour. The specific actions to be undertaken on a guard tour can be pre-programmed for each site and each schedule so the agent only need click one button to watch the live video window while the cameras will automatically move around and switch from one to another to ensure that the agreed tour is always automatically undertaken. A virtual guard tour can also be undertaken at any time and the automated tour can be easily interrupted if something problematic is found.

A secure web portal into the Immix system is included. This provides the ability for the owners of the site to connect through the internet to review any alarms or guard tours from their sites and listen to any audio given or received. The web site also provides a real time view of the security status of the site and enables the customer to view and control live cameras through the web without needing any plug-ins or downloads. A fully functional miniaturized version of the web site is also provided for those wishing to connect through a PDA or mobile phone.

A powerful reporting system completes Sureview Immix as a complete package for all the needs of a modern CCTV alarm receiving centre. Reports include several critical management reports such as average alarm and guard tour response times, statistics on alarm activity and operator efficiency levels. These all ensure that the right information is immediately available to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the entire security system with short term issues and long term trends easily identified.

In summary, Immix provides a comprehensive solution for all video monitoring needs and offers an easy to use, consistent and fully auditible solution to the central monitoring station regardless of the choice of manufacturer of the on site recording and transmission technology.
